It’s always fun to see a little awkwardness between celebs.

If it isn’t missed handshakes or public disputes, it’s flirtatious attempts that don’t quite land.

This time, it was Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez and famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio who found themselves in the spotlight.

Sánchez’s attempt to flirt with DiCaprio didn’t go as smoothly as she might have hoped. But when you watch the viral clip, you might sympathise with DiCaprio in that you would’ve done the same thing.

At the 10th Annual Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Art and Film Gala in 2021, Sánchez was caught on camera swooning over DiCaprio while standing between her boyfriend, Jeff Bezos, and the successful movie star.

In the seconds-long clip, Sánchez can be seen standing very close to the Titanic star, almost half-hugging him, with a beaming smile and eyes gazing up at his face.

Unfortunately for Sánchez, things don’t die down fast on the internet. And three years later, the interaction is resurfacing on social media and still continuing to entertain others like it’s the first time seeing it.

It’s almost as if the Amazon founder, on the other side of her, isn’t even there.

DiCaprio then appears to make a polite exit, pointing his finger in the air, just before Sánchez takes a step after him.

Accounts on social media have been all chiming in with their own comments.

‘Get a girl that looks at you like Bezos’s girl looks at Leo,’ one user replied.

‘Leo is about to lose his prime account,’ another joked in response to the shared clip on YouTube Shorts.

Others were curious about what was being said between the two as no sound can be heard during the clip.

‘This is the living proof that Looks beats Wallet,’ wrote another.

Commenting on DiCaprio’s type of woman, a user pointed out: ‘No need to worry. Leo only dates women under age 25.’

Bezos himself even responded to the viral clip on X, then Twitter, on the day it happened. He posted a shirtless picture of himself and surprisingly ripped behind a sign warning: “Danger! Steep cliff. Fatal Drop”.

The caption read: ‘Leo, come over here, I want to show you something …’

Think it’s touched a nerve.

Mom goes viral after revealing how she ‘de-pilled’ her ‘red-pilled’ son

She says the signs were obvious

A mother has revealed to TikTok how she got through to her son who had fallen down the ‘red pill’ rabbit hole on the internet.

Do you ever feel like you’re in The Matrix? While we’re not quite being hunted by sunglass-wearing versions of Hugo Weaving, the rate that technology is moving at has us sometimes fearing we could be trapped in a technological nightmare similar to Neo.

The Wachowskis’ four-movie saga popularized the whole red pill, blue pill analogy, with one woman going viral on TikTok after claiming she managed to ‘de-pill’ her ‘red-pilled’ son. The Matrix introduced the idea of living in happy ignorance under the influence of the blue pill or learning an uncomfortable truth by taking the red pill. Netflix recently explored the ‘red pill community’ in the bombshell series Adolescence in which a teenage boy is arrested after committing a crime seemingly motivated by ‘red pill’ communities.

Although the idea of the red pill was actually introduced in 1990’s Total Recall, it was The Matrix that made it famous.

In today’s context, the idea that a man has been red-pilled suggests that he has a hatred for women. Some men will vent on Reddit communities like The Red Pill, often displaying misogyny or general for the female sex.

Men’s Rights Activists might claim that men get all the hard jobs, women are only after them for their money, and even that they’re being ‘tricked’ into fatherhood.

Posting on TikTok, rchlprkr explained how she first spotted that her son was ‘red-pilled’. According to her, it all started with a conversation where her son apparently said, “Well women are golddiggers anyway.”

When grilled on ‘which women’, he couldn’t name any specific examples but said it applied to women in general.

She told him, “The only people who begrudge women who want to have money spent on them is men who don’t have money but still want that woman. They want her to drop their standards for him, even though he can’t provide the lifestyle she wants and expects.

“He gets mad at her for expecting money, but it’s just a lifestyle choice at the end of the day.”

She said that she reminded her son that he knows women aren’t doing this on mass.

Responding to her video, many were shocked at how commonplace this appears to be coming.

One concerned person wrote: “It’s actually diabolical how the red pill mentality is so easily slipped into media targeting young boys & men.”

Another added: “Nice, calling out false bias and invented scenarios is a great message. Hope your young fella has found some positive role models.”

A third concluded: “I saw the very initial signs with my youngest (14) when he started referring to women as ‘females’.”

The OP responded to this and said that it’s a term that’s often used in these red pill videos.

While we (hopefully) don’t live in a computer simulation like the Matrix, it seems the sci-fi epic is only becoming more realistic by the day.

Washington Post posts shocking TikTok calling out owner Jeff Bezos

The Washington Post has uploaded a shocking TikTok calling out its owner Jeff Bezos

The Amazon boss purchased the newspaper back in 2013 and it seems that the news outlet is clapping back at recent rule change.

The paper revealed its previous plans to endorse Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris but says the announcement was kiboshed by Bezos.

Taking to TikTok, the Washington Post posted a video where it called out the billionaire for blocking the endorsement.

In the caption of the video, which was taken from a full article, it said: “Here’s why some billionaires are going soft on Trump.

With the White House appearing increasingly up for grabs, and especially as polls have tightened, numerous billionaires and other leading executives have taken steps in recent months to stay out of the race — even if they had criticized Trump after the Capitol insurrection of Jan. 6, 2021, calling his encouragement of the riot a threat to American democracy. Others who previously backed Democrats have stayed silent this election, which some critics and Trump supporters alike have interpreted as a peace offering to the GOP presidential nominee.”

The post goes on to say: “Trump allies hailed what they say are signs of neutrality from other billionaires. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who owns The Washington Post, decided that The Post would no longer endorse presidential candidates, a change announced last week. The Post had an endorsement of Harris in the works.

“That came just days after Patrick Soon-Shiong, who owns the Los Angeles Times, blocked that paper’s endorsement of Harris.

“Both moves sparked an uproar, with critics saying they reflected concerns about the owners’ financial interests — Amazon has billions of dollars in cloud computing contracts with the federal government, and Blue Origin, Bezos’s rocket company, has contracts with the Space Force and NASA. Soon-Shiong, a biotech investor, could have future business before federal regulators.”

Viewers were shocked by the bold video, with many taking to the TikTok comment section to share their reactions.

One user wrote: “Seems like Washington Post social media and editorial are not on the same page lol.”

Another said: “Love you calling out your boss.”

A third person commented: “Democracy dies in Darkness …thank you for shining.”

And a fourth asked: “So who does the Washington Post TikTok account endorse?”

Bezos has defended his position, arguing that an endorsement would ‘create a perception of bias’.

An unhappy Amazon customer took the issue of his missing parcel to the top boss by emailing Jeff Bezos directly and was shocked by his incredibly generous response.

Max Wilkes took to Reddit to share his experience when an Amazon order went missing.

The item had cost him £1,099.97 ($1,417.06) and when it never arrived, he decided to take matters into his own hands by sending a note to the former CEO.

Wilkes was blown away when he received a reply on Bezos’ behalf, revealing that the email said: “My name is Keisha and I’m with Amazon Executive Customer Relations. Jeff Bezos has received your correspondence and I’m responding on their behalf. I’m very sorry to hear of your delivery experience related to order (order number redacted).

“Please be assured that from an Amazon perspective it is completely unacceptable for a driver to act in this manner. This individual driver failed to meet the high service standard we set for our customers.

“The details of this incident have been passed onto Senior Management at the carrier who will fully investigate the driver’s behaviour. I ask for your patience while we investigate this issue.”

He then revealed that Keisha followed up personally by giving him a call to say that she had refunded him for the item.

Recalling the conversation, Wilkes wrote that Keisha had said: “Also, as apology for the poor experience and as a gesture of goodwill, I’ve issued a £100 gift card to your Amazon account.

“Thank you for being a valued member of our Prime family. We look forward to serving you again – and serving you better – next time.”

Wilkes added that he was also informed during the chat over the phone that Keisha would be “following up with the call centre staff and they’re going to receive further training and escalation methods to ensure this isn’t repeated”.

It’s safe to say that people were pretty impressed with the response.

In the comment section, one user wrote: “Yesssss go OP. Way to score one for the little guy. Clearly flaws in the delivery process as I’ve seen (2nd hand) through a friends PS5 ‘delivery’.”

A second posted: “Yea so when I worked there this is what I was told by a warehouse top level manager: if you email that email it’s the fastest way to get a response because Jeff’s team doesn’t f*** around.”

A third said: “So glad you got it resolved, in possibly the coolest way possible.”

But there’s always one who bursts the bubble, with a fourth adding: “Great news! Although there is no way Jeff Bezos actually read your email – they’ll have a team monitoring that inbox.”

Jeff Bezos’ controversial ‘question mark method’ panics any employee who receives it

An email from the Amazon founder is enough to send a shiver down your spine

A vague email from your boss can be stressful at the best of times.

Maybe that one-liner about having a quick chat in their office simply means they want to have a quick chat in their office.

Or maybe you’ve made the biggest mistake in the history of the company and you’re about to be berated, humiliated and left without a job.

Now, imagine your boss is one of the richest, most powerful men in the world.

That’s the reality for employees at Amazon who are a subjected to Jeff Bezos’ controversial ‘question mark method.’

In his 2013 book, The Everything Store, author Brad Stone revealed that employees would be forwarded complaint emails that customers had sent directly to Bezos.

The Amazon founder would forward the complaint to the relevant people who would forward it the relevant people and so on.

His only note – a single question mark.

They’re then expected to provide a sufficient response that will go all the way back to the second wealthiest person on the planet.

The claims in Stone’s book were controversial. Bezos’ then-wife MacKenzie Scott said there were ‘way too many inaccuracies.’

She also said the book was ‘full of techniques which stretch the boundaries of non-fiction, and the result is a lopsided and misleading portrait of the people and culture at Amazon.’

But, Bezos has since confirmed claims about his controversial method during an interview at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Texas.

“I still have an email address customers can write to. I see most of those emails. I see them and I forward them to the executives in charge of the area with a question mark,” he said.

“It’s shorthand [for], ‘Can you look into this?’ ‘Why is this happening?'”

And, according to Business Insider, Bezos’ question mark emails are pretty common, and getting one is enough to send shivers down your spine.

An Amazon manager told the publication that when they receive the email, they are ‘on the hook to drop everything, investigate, and get back with an answer.’

Bezos says having a personal email address for customers to write to is down to one of the company’s core values: customer obsession.

“We talk about it, customer obsession, as opposed to competitor obsession,” he said.

“If your whole culture is competitor-obsessed, it’s hard to stay motivated if you are out in front. Whereas customers are also unsatisfied, always discontent, always want more. So no matter how far in front you get in front of competitors, you are still behind your customers. They are always pulling you along.”
